Nice kit, big silver bolt doesn't seem to be it.

Nice kit, big silver screw doesn't seem to work with non-original ball joints on my Polaris. I would give 5 stars if there was an instruction manual.

Pros
  • Heavy duty blow out storage case keeps contents safe and secure when not in use.
Cons
  • Interchangeable

When the Hillbilly workshop is closed, grab the right tool.

I've tried various methods to remove my quad's ball joint, but the threads got tangled. So I looked through them and bought this set. He pulled that ball joint like a charm. Works perfectly. Be sure to apply some lubricant to the threads before you start tightening.

Pros
  • The OTC Ball Joint Service Kit is designed to safely remove and install ball joints on ATVs.
Cons
  • Cargo.

Badly designed. for tools and equipment

The screw is not long enough to see (or even feel) that you are fully connected to the ball joint. You can't put your finger in to hold the bolt. When I tried to pull out the second ball joint, it seemed to me that the screw was fully tightened; it's not like this. on a full try I pulled the threads off the screw; now it's useless. try tapping the screw back out or replace it.

Pros
  • Similar to Polaris 2870871
Cons
  • Nothing here

Slide on the black bolt sleeve, slide the large nut onto the large bolt, slide the black spacer through and thread onto the ball joint. Hold the bolt while turning the nut. Remove the ball joint. Leaving the black bushing on the screws, insert the ball joint into the long black assembly tool. Insert the black bushing and…
