The first set was missing a component. The replacement set is perfect. The tools are ideal for removing gaskets from VG30 engines. Because tight tolerances require thin tools, they should not be abused or overstressed. These aren't gear pullers, these are gasket pullers. I see other reviewers have complained about it breaking, but I haven't had any issues.

The goods have arrived, the installers look good and will last a long time if used correctly. Disappointed with OTC for both sets of pullers, they're pretty crappy, I don't think they'll hold up well. The ideal is good, but the material is of poor quality for his work. i will do better Also, be sure to use an anti-seize pressure screw for smoother operation. It's just a preference.

The seal remover didn't work very well but the seal setting tools worked great. I made a crankshaft oil seal and a transmission output oil seal on a 2001 Monte Carlo 3.8 front wheel drive. The puller is cheaply made and doesn't do the job, it doesn't grip the seals well enough to pull them out. Seal installation tools worked as advertised. To be honest I could improvise with the tools I already have on hand and get the same result. Probably not worth the money.

I have been using OTC tools for 50 years and this set is the quality I have come to expect from OTC. The puller legs are not very strong as they need to be thin enough to get into the seal without scratching the shaft. If the seal is stuck, try loosening it first rather than trying to pry it out with the puller's legs. Consider using adapters to gently squeeze and release the seal before pulling. This set is a complete mess. This is the second time I am writing a review on this item as my first one was shut down or removed for some reason. The squeegee legs are undersized and mostly made of a metal pot, and plumber's building materials are cheap at best. . Don't waste your money on this junk.
