a 1 foot cord is ideal for my purposes as i am mounting this unit under a counter in a cramped area and don't need an extra 6 inches for my setup need. In addition, this is a standard extension cord for 6 outlets, a switch (with backlight). No circuit breaker or surge switch, just a 6 outlet strip. But for $4, what do you want, your money back? It's a good price for what it is and it works well.

I ordered two of these and found that the plug runs the cable up the wall and not to the floor. STUNNING! It couldn't be seen in the photo as placing the 3rd pin causes the cable to go UP instead of down to the ground. Perhaps there are differences in the way sockets are built into building walls. Make sure YOUR outlet has the third pin DOWN of the three pin holes, if any.

Extension works as it should. However, the plug is designed to face one way. For example, with my sockets, it always points to the right. This means that I only have to use it in the right exit, with horizontal double exits, or it covers both exits. This becomes an issue when either outlet is activated by a wall switch or I need to flip it the other way. Since the cable is very short, the direction can sometimes make a big difference.

The item I received was different from the product images, not what I expected. I was looking for a flat fork product and the item I received was not. Not to mention that it doesn't match the pictures and product description (they really need updating). As another reviewer noted, you risk what you actually get if you buy this ad. Returned this item to find something else that would suit my needs.

Product not as described. The cable was too short. I bought specifically for the length of the cable. I was unfit for my needs. I really don't want to mess around with returns and guesswork when making future purchases.

Very useful in the home. I looked for several sockets with a strip switch and a spade plug. This worked great. I didn't pay attention to the length of the cable, it's quite short. But that's my fault. I still use it. It's very safe, functional, the material is reliable and durable - I accidentally stepped on it a couple of times and it's still in good condition. I would buy it again with a longer cable.
