Superb swivel base

Recently the chair's swivel base broke after many years. I liked the chair so I decided to fix it. This new swivel base is made of thicker metal, has good ball bearing and is better than the original. Aside from some issues with the original hardware on the chair, installation was easy and the chair is like new.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works as advertised

It's always nice to get something that works exactly how you hope it will. I put it on a big rocking chair. I was worried it wouldn't be stiff or strong enough as it's mostly advertised for bar stools and fishing boat stools. You can use them in a real bar business and they will last you for years.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Power outlet required

So far so good!: Home Bar Furniture

I didn't realize how difficult it was to rotate our bar stools until one of them broke and we replaced both swivels with these. We did one so why not both you know? The hardest part so far has been getting/inserting the screws through the holes in the bottom of the stool, but that's not the fault of the swivel. In under an hour for two chairs, we swivel easily and look forward to enjoying the smooth seat rotation for years to come.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Neutral

Got my blinker back.

I have a set of Adirondack polyester wood swivel paddles that won't spin without a fight. They had a 7" swivel with no ball bearings. I replaced them with 7" AaGUT Heavy Duty bar stools which have ball bearings and what a difference. When I turn around now, I'm really going into town. I have a feeling Clark Griswold sprayed a new no-calorie, silicone-based kitchen grease onto the pivot, making it 500 times slippery than regular vegetable oil. Next I will install airsickness bags.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's ok

Obviously there is no such thing as a standard 7 " boat swivel :-(

I have two Attwood quick release seat mounts and they say they fit a 7" swivel. I researched and tried three different 7" swivels and came to the conclusion that there are no standard 7" swivels. So in the end I left them, took my grinder and whittled all the crap out of them, to get in and out of a quick release mount. I don't know if it's related to Attwood, the swivel makers, or both. I know all three different brands of 7" swivels I bought were all different sizes! So. All I can say to youโ€ฆ

  • Don't waste too much time
