Works well: Memory

I put memory in an old Mac and it has worked fine so far. I haven't tried anything from Photoshop, but most of the problems I've encountered are related to web browsing, freezing, and rebooting. Now I'm thinking about buying and upgrading an old Mac desktop and buying a new battery for my MacBook. Installation is relatively easy and there are plenty of videos on the OWC website. I would strongly recommend checking the Hz of your memory. I bought the wrong one and couldn't figure out why the…

Your online service was exceptional

I ended up buying it from Revain and not the OWC website but chatted to someone who answered my questions about my iMac on their website. It turns out that Apple is more likely to tell you that your iMac can't be upgraded to 32GB for you to invest in their new products. OWC's online support allayed my concerns and I purchased the kit. I thought that after 7 years this computer was useless and only cost 300-400 dollars to resell. Now my mid-2011 iMac is running at full capacity (at or better…

Lifetime guarantee? Best in Computers & Accessories

Easy to install. This is the second set I've bought in the last two years. The first pair just stopped working after a year or so. I contacted the manufacturer as they are supposed to have a lifetime warranty but got no response. The reason I bought it again is because I couldn't wait for a response from the manufacturer, I was hoping that eventually they would come and credit my purchase. Also, I wanted to pick up another pair that's already installed on my desktop and still working. Perhaps…

Should have done this years ago

Late 2011 MacBook Pro i5 core. This increased along with the original 4GB of RAM and an activity monitor that indicated around 3GB was being used in basic web browsing. I dropped caution and upgraded to 16GB of RAM. The same activity shows more than 7GB of RAM in use! While macOS seems to manage the paging file well with a small amount of RAM, it definitely wants more if possible. I doubt RAM makes a MacBook any faster, but it allows for more efficient operation since data isn't constantly…

Looks like one or more

Looks like one or more of the 4 memory cards we ordered are lemons. Worked great for a couple of weeks and increased the speed of our 2011 iMac. But then the screen went black and he started beeping loudly in groups of three. The researchers said to take the cards out and put them back in, as a code of 3 beeps meant a memory problem. It does not work. I took out new ones (4-4 gigs), put in old ones (4-2 gigs) and everything worked. It is a pity. Not sure if this is common. The good news is that

Quick and easy installation.

My iMac was low on memory and was very slow. I called Apple and the tech was great and suggested I go online and buy 8GB of RAM and upgrade from 4GB. Doesn't matter! I put off this setup for a few years because I didn't want to spend "a bunch of change" on a "solution", but after speaking to Apple I didn't realize how cheap it was to add more RAM to buy. Apple sent me installation instructions, but I didn't really need them since OWC offers the same thing. Installation and recovery took only a…

Now like a new computer!

My imac in mid-2011 was very sluggish. and i just thought it was because he was old. After all these years I checked the RAM and it was only working with 4GB the whole time. Uhhh! It was so disgusting to see this beach ball of fate! Ordered 8 GB RAM and actually arrived a day earlier than announced. I'm worried about the installation as I know ZIP about such things. But alas, it was very easy and successful. I am now amazed at the difference in the speed of my applications. What a world of…
