Perfect as expected, couldn't be happier to buy more.

Perfect as expected. I've owned and used individual OWC cases for years without a single issue - unlike the ones I've personally found from several other popular brands. Connected to a 2018 iMac Pro via USB-C (using the included cable) and added two (2) 1TB spinning drives, one for Time Machine, the other with a clone of the latest MacBook Pro. Couldn't be happier, I even changed 2.5" rims a couple of times to experiment with speed etc. No problem. Two (2) blue (or red) lights shine through the

Bought two, one works great, the other doesn't.

A RAID works great. I have two 2TB spindle drives and have had no problems. The second had a strange hull problem. When I put the drive tray in an external enclosure, it doesn't format fully. I formatted each drive separately, both in sleds outside the case, and everything worked great. But one day I put it in an outer case. No bueno. Strange problems.

Sturdy and lightweight small suitcases.

I have two of these dual drive cases. One was purchased with two OWC 1T SSDs. The other was an empty case in which I installed two Crucial 2T SSDs. Both are set to RAID 1 (mirroring). I found the cases to be solid, well built, and easy to install and set up. The exact speed you see depends on many factors. Connected to a 2018 Macintosh Mini, the Crucial model runs at around 1073.8 MB/s read and 499.8 MB/s write (with dd). Of course, there are no moving parts in an SSD, so the drive is silent. I

RAID problem No support from OWC

After this check they offered support for this new purchase and I was able to get the RAID working. This was a bit tricky compared to a larger OWC drive with the same RAID selector. RAID 0 will not work on this drive. I asked OWC for help and it took them forever to get back to them for confirmation of purchase. I have provided a screenshot of my Revain order clearly stating the Revain order number (OWC is a supplier through Revain), the product and the date of purchase. They wanted it in PDF…

OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual Mini is a great build, value for money

So this thing is really well put together. Good metal construction. Easy to assemble. The power button on the back slides in very firmly and has a fairly large opening through the backplate. I've read a number of reviews and don't know what to fault. A guy complained about slow Time Machine backups. Time Machine is controlled by the operating system! Not this device. If you want to unblock, use "sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=0" and turn off throttling. With. Oh yes, my Mac Mini is a

Not quite within spec

Write speed is 10% slower than advertised (508 actual vs 573 spec). 6% faster read than advertised (730 vs. 689). However, in a different 4-drive enclosure, I get almost twice the speed with the same brand of SSDs. So that could be the limit of my SSD. My 4-drive case is also from OWC and probably uses the same chipset as this 2-drive case, so it's not convincing. This uses the USB-C ports on a 2018 Mac Pro with 2x 1TB SSD in RAID 0 mode. We all know the OWC support is pretty much the worst…
