Best for MacBook A1811 in Computers & Accessories category

Used to update my old Macbook and repurpose it as a Linux machine. Perfect fit for the A1811 - although Apple only officially supports 4GB on these models, techs found that MoBo actually easily takes up to 6GB (plus, performance drops dramatically). This mismatched combination (4+2GB) is the perfect solution to the problem I was having and that's why I bought it. Works perfectly! My Lubuntu machine can see/use all 6 gigabytes with no problems.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

One of the cards is not working

I bought these RAM upgrades for my mid 2017 imac. If both cards are installed, the Mac will not boot. I tried with an installed original and a new one and then it booted fine but only had 3GB (I wanted 4). I then replaced the new one with another to try and troubleshoot and of course the Mac doesn't recognize the RAM and won't boot. Swapped two new ones and everything worked. So obviously one of the new RAM cards is not working. main fright. I will send these back as soon as possible.

Pros
  • Is it worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Worked great on an old Mac mini

I found a video showing how to open a friend's Mac mini. Your games already run about twice as fast. Arrived quickly and fits perfectly. I'll be back with an update in a month. UPDATE: Still working fine, Mac mini is now disabled for idle use - the tablet is getting more attention now.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Running

Worked as expected. Many Thanks.

I bought it for an old iMac client. The listing lists the exact computers it worked with, which was great. Everything worked as expected. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

OWC is probably the best Mac update tool

I've been using OWC for years, they answered my questions, provided my data in a timely manner, their website helped me through the procedures. They know their poppies.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • I'll be silent
