OWDEN Professional Leather Craft Edge Beveler (Size 1#), Leatherworking Tool. Review

I ordered size #1 and just received and due to apparent quality I have just ordered size #2 and #3, a stainless steel blade (claimed and appears to be stainless steel, since I started polishing it to a high gloss and it's hard) and the handle is very black and solid (supposedly ebony). Rarely do I encounter such an impressive instrument.

love it. And let me tell you, my customers are very fond of wallets. I really needed this tool. The Rocky Mountain leather offering was not the size of the tool I needed, just like any other long wait site. Guys, just read the description, this is a tool. Don't complain about the price because they sell easily over $50 elsewhere. At nearly $30, this is an amazing tool that gets the job done cleanly and accurately.

The bevel cutter arrived on time, there were no problems with the delivery. However, I've tried using the edger on the recommended leather thickness of 0.5mm to 1.2mm and I find I can't get good results. After examining the edger carefully, I noticed that there was a chip on the cut edge. I think the product has great potential and I will tell Ouden about it. This thing is a hard 10+. I gave it less than 30 stars based on what I thought I ordered (a much larger edger). This one, which cuts nice and evenly, just doesn't make a noticeable bevel for me. Being my first, that's probably why I ordered this tiny size. This is what you need for the best leather - nice little, light, beautifully finished il Bisonte or Hermes, nice wallets or card holders. I have no complaints just compliments for these superb edgers. Got the 2mm for Christmas and after using it I ordered the 4mm. The finish and fit is on par with much more expensive edgers and outperforms some of the well known brands. Mine arrived well polished and very sharp on every surface. The cut surfaces are symmetrical and must have been ground before I received them. Regular processing makes them extremely sharp. The handles appear to be black and are very nicely finished.
