Perfect Size Butterfly House

Ideal size for about a dozen caterpillars. Cats are not crowded. It's easy to keep clean. I bought four of these as monarch cats are best kept in small groups of about the same size. The mesh and top have enough space for chrysolite to form and enough space for butterfly wings to dry. Mesh design for good air circulation. The net is tightly woven to repel wasps. flash quality. I have no questions about the quality. If you're not sure what you need, start here. A good investment for growing…

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Some Shades

This pen has everything you need to raise my monarch cats! Well made, lightweight but hard edges make it durable. Mesh for ventilation. Easily moves anywhere, indoors or out. Easy to open/close zipper. Perfect for my monarch cats! I have planted small spurge plants in pots below as shown in the picture and petioles in plastic flower holders below. Grandson loves looking through the clear plastic side, especially when butterflies appear! And - easy to clean and foldable! I will buy more of…

Satisfactory habitat for caterpillars.

I moved my caterpillar to this habitat a few days ago. He's nocturnal so he's curled up asleep in the photo, but every night he comes out and eats some leaves I prepared for him. In the jar I kept it in until it arrived it didn't have much space and basically stayed in a corner. But he's been all over this tent, so he seems to like it. He hides under the paper towels which I put on the floor when he sleeps so I didn't put them there but it seems to work fine. It's hard to see through the mesh…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Ease of maintenance

Habitat order arrived 'next day'. In perfect condition - Very well finished - No breaks in the mesh - Zipper works smoothly - Great attention to detail - The "closed" end of the zipper has a little fabric hood - I think so you don't accidentally catch the zipper on your clothes and shake it the habitat and the creatures in it - I especially like the clear plastic viewing window on one side. A suggestion - which would probably make it a little cheaper. This is *an offer*. *NOT* Complaint…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Modern

It is very large and very beautiful, with a few flaws.

I use my living space to keep two small praying mantises and their flightless fruit fly food. The habitat is in fact quite large and the fine meshes prevent fruit flies from escaping. There's a clear plastic viewing window on one side, but it's not 100% transparent like glass, so everything you see will be distorted and if it's small, you won't be able to see sharp detail. Sometimes I just use one of the websites to browse, because it makes it easier for me to find my praying mantis. I think…

Pros
  • practical thing
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's ok

Really need better access, two zips AND double zips will help!

I bought two of these small houses and two large ones. I've already written a 5 star review of a large one and can't seem to get into my review to change it, so in this review I'll only show what I consider a downside. I had a really bad day with late instar monarch caterpillars who decided to prepare for pupation right at the zip line. The first horrible deaths were when I unzipped it without even thinking that caterpillars could be right inside it. I was horrified to see two of them being…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some problems
