Worked well for a year. Then he broke. The top of the stem and the threaded hole in the cap corroded until the threads loosened. The lid no longer stays open, making it almost unusable. This part of the mechanism, by design, is constantly in the presence of salt, so it's surprising they didn't use a more corrosion-resistant alloy.

21st century. Why would anyone still agree to having *two* accessories for the most commonly used and paired spices in the western world?! Salt and Pepper All-in-One is an obvious and convenient choice. This one gets +1 because it's a pepper mill and not just a shaker. I just wish it was popular enough to be available in more styles and from more vendors.

I love the combined salt and pepper design, but the dial doesn't work at all (at least on the grinder we have). Even on the smallest setting, the pepper turns out large and large, VERY CORRECTLY ground. We will probably send it back. UPDATE: We were able to send the defective Revain grinder back free of charge and order a new one. The new one arrived quickly and WORKS GREAT! The adjustment mechanism on the new one works flawlessly and produces a finer grind.

I replaced my old pepper grinder and salt shaker with this OXO model and expected it to last a long time. But I was wrong.
