Masher turns into puree.

I've equipped my entire kitchen with OXO appliances and for the first time in my life I'm disappointed in something. It looks great, but to be honest, the levers that connect the handle and pusher are a little flimsy, making them easy to bend to one side or the other. It's easy enough to go back, but it's not the quality I've come to expect from OXO.

Potato Masher at Potato Masher

My job for Christmas dinner was to make mashed potatoes. I've been using Idahoan or Bob Evans for a long time, but he insisted on real mashed potatoes. To knead them, I needed a tool. I was about to buy a vintage look but saw this and decided to give it a try. To be honest, I didn't expect it to work well, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It does its job well and doesn't require much manual labor. I've used it twice and I'm very happy with the purchase. I would definitely buy it again

Makes pureeing quick and easy

I bought this after reading a recommendation on Wirecutter after almost breaking a sweat mashing celery and potatoes with one of those straight handle zigzag grinders . The celery root seemed to flatten out more than the puree. A horizontal grip instead of a vertical "bar" gives me MUCH more leverage when mashing. That makes it almost too easy. I like this too as it's more efficient when mashing, I can do it in a smaller bowl so the potatoes don't slide around the sides of the bowl/pot. I guess

NOT OXO'S BEST TOOL

I really love OXO products and have several at home; However, I bought it based on the great reviews but was very disappointed when it came time to use it. First, the tool is about 5 inches shorter than a regular trowel (any other brand). The grip is good, but when you cook a huge pot of potatoes, your hand gets in the potatoes or your hand gets too hot. There isn't enough grip to give it a good poke ('mash') so I returned it and bought one of those old fashioned choppers my mom used to use. If

Bad potato masher design

that I liked about the Oxo Good Grips line. I have several of their tools in my kitchen. And the idea of this press is good. The horizontal handle is comfortable and allows you to easily apply more force to grind food than with the more typical vertical handle design. But that's also the biggest design flaw. Anyone of reasonable strength can easily apply enough force to bend the pusher at its weakest points. This is a product design flaw. You understand that in the construction industry. Just…
