Aside from being difficult to use as a slicer for harder objects like onions, it's impossible to clean. The instructions say to remove the grab pod by depressing the body at three points, but the body is thick and completely inflexible, in part due to its construction.

A well-made product that makes chopping vegetables easier. Especially useful when trying to cut a large number of cubes. Here are some helpful tips. Feel free to use it! Roughly chop the veggies to fit the cutter, then press in one quick motion. If you hesitate or press too gently, you won't get sharp edges. Also, be sure to hand wash the pad in cold water and air dry.

Love love love this product! Easy to prepare vegetables for dishes and sauces. I managed to ruin a small cleaning insert in my dishwasher's cutlery drawer so please keep an eye on it. But it's easy to clean, keep on the top shelf of the dishwasher or wash by hand to avoid melting. It worked so well during the messy Thanksgiving prep that my sister bought one for her husband and they use it all the time.

I have a great set of kitchen knives and I'm not bad with knives, but this tool has become my sous chef. I use this item at least four times a week. Easy to use and produces clean cuts of the same size for each item. This item can be washed in the dishwasher, but I also wash it with a brush. I chopped onions, apples, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes. I'm sure I've carved many more.

Looking for OXO Good Grips products. I'm ordering a vegetable and onion chopper ahead of the holidays in hopes it will cut down on the time it takes chopping lots of veggies and onions. It worked better than I thought; This saved a lot of time with so many foods I had to cut, including hard boiled eggs. Looks like I'll be ordering some more of these for my family. I had another chopper that worked great but when I saw OXO had one out I ordered it. As expected, I liked it a lot better than the first one I gave to a friend. I especially like that it's deeper and not as long so food doesn't pool under the grinding surface and best of all it has a hole in one end so you can just pour it onto the bowl when it's full is. This product is not very convenient to use. The hole in the back is more of a hindrance than a help. When I cut veggies, they tend to slip through the hole. In addition, the blade is difficult to remove and the overall capacity is small. A better design would be something larger, without a "handy pouring hole," and with a blade that can be removed without an act of Congress.
