I bought this scale to replace similar Farberware I got in the late 80's. Works exactly the same, high quality and inexpensive. There are no batteries as it is not digital. I had a digital one and could never get it to work properly. The only problem with it is that it's SMALL. It is ideal for those who want to weigh out food for a diet or prepare small meals.
