Works, but. suitable for cars and automotive electronics

I tried to ask the manufacturer this question but couldn't find a link to it. I have a subwoofer with an amplifier without a volume control. The AVR it's connected to couldn't reduce the power output enough for my liking. I hooked this unit up to a subwoofer and it works, but the control knob goes from zero to 100% in about 1/10th of a turn of the knob. In other words, there doesn't seem to be a linear adjustment with the same gradation between the two extreme positions of the knob. This makes…

Don't be a HACK! - Remote controls

I bought this because you can't buy the ugly new Emotiva controller anymore :( I use it to control two subwoofers. Tie all the wires together and secure with double sided servo tape. Use good quality subwoofers for love by Pete! Put all the wires that have a black detachable loom stuck in them Don't chop your work, make it look nice I can't look at Mickey Mouse and mess up the work and throw all the visible spaghetti wires all over the place Be a little proud of God sake I bought a processed…

Pros
  • Annual test period
Cons
  • The list will be long.

If you're dumb like me, try to save money and use this knob to control the high power output (speaker output from the canbus amp). TBT you will need a high output to RCA converter if your amp doesn't have one built in. This control only boosts the signal present, it has NO ability to reduce it beyond the initial head unit output. (or in my case a canbus amp). I still give it a great rating as it does a great job of what it advertised. I will buy it for all future cars as the PAC brand is way…

Static, especially with large volumes.

I ordered one of these but didn't install it until it was outside the return window. When I noticed hiss at high volume, I just assumed I had a defective one. So I ordered a new one and got the same results, this one is refundable. I've tried increasing the gain on other parts of the system (source and amp) to reduce the need to turn the knob all the way up and I still get the same result, when the system gets loud I get distortion. . My goal is to have a system loud enough that this doesn't…

Much better than the amp's dedicated bass controls

I had a fun project with a dual 2 ohm subwoofer where I wanted to connect each voice coil to an independent amplifier. I knew I needed a bass knob and didn't like the layout options for using a knob or certain amp knobs (which use 3.5mm). This acts like a man in the middle controlling the level of the signals in the RCA cables. Pretty basic actually, just looks like a potentiometer in a box with RCA input and output jacks (all female) but that's not a disadvantage, that's what makes it great…

The quality corresponds to the price, but serves its purpose.

Easy adjustable cushioning/cushioning. I wanted to build my own but the price of this little stereo mute was cheaper and time-saver. Build quality is a lot cheaper than I expected, but for $7 with delivery to my door I can't complain. I use this to reduce the input from my retro gaming consoles to my studio monitors so I'm not too concerned about reliability. If you're going to use it in a car, which is what it was originally intended for, I'd prefer something more durable. The case is made of…

Unbelievable price at under $10 plus very easy install

Recently installed an old Memphis mono amp in my truck. It works great but doesn't include the original Memphis remote. Turns out not all RJ11 remotes are compatible, so I went looking for a universal gain control and stumbled upon it. It costs less than $10 and offers the same functionality as most proprietary gain controls costing five times as much. This was delivered today during my lunch hour so I decided to hook it up to my truck before pulling into the driveway. I simply grabbed an extra

good quality, works well.

A recently purchased amp included a remote subwoofer level control that connected to the amp itself (via a phone cord) but introduced some distortion when used. This controller from Revain connects "in-line" to the RCA outputs on the back of most car stereos (if you already have a subwoofer amp, there's no need to remove the main unit from the dash. Just unplug the cables for the input to the amplifier, connect them to this item, and then connect the cables from this unit to the amplifier)…

Better Than Direct Amp Plug-in Level Controls

I have been using these PAC level controls for many years. In most cases I prefer to use them on the subwoofer amp than the level controls that come with some amps and plug directly into the amp for a number of reasons. The first reason is that these PAC controllers are housed in a plastic case that can be easily removed without damaging the circuitry. This way you can just use the working circuit inside the case which is a potentiometer and a small chip. This makes installing the controller…
