Burned about 3 CDs before he died. I have contacted the customer service website several times - no replies. It does not read minidiscs, although there is a slot - the operating system hangs (on Windows ME). I ended up throwing it away as after all the discounts it was only $9 which is not worth the warranty claim.

Pacific Digital just isn't the right place to buy CDRWs. It is so easy. Whatever speed you want, be it internal or external, look elsewhere.[]They are not supported. After countless spelling errors that have increased over time and endless CD audio problems (skipping, entire tracks not playing), the unit now refuses to read discs on which it was previously written myself down. If there was ever a big irony, please send it to "technical support" (actually ghosts). This thing has been bugging me since I bought it and I'm going to throw it in the trash.

If you are having problems with this drive, please note that the manufacturer has issued a firmware revision. The firmware update is available on the Pacific Digital website.

Installation was easy. If you're familiar with CD-RW installation, this shouldn't be a problem. A note: Before installing new drives, make sure to remove the old drivers. The drive is pretty fast.

Pacific Digital has been discontinued. Therefore there is no support for this product. However, there is also a website with some useful information. There you can download manuals and software/firmware updates. Hope that helps. I've had great success with my two Pacific Digital external drives.
