Incorrect installation position? Wrong move? No problem!

Despite some reviews saying it rotates the wrong way for certain applications I took a chance at the low price. I'm glad I did. For my 1959 Nutone 880 I had to change both the mounting orientation and direction. Changing the mounting direction (top to bottom) was easy, just unscrew the two screws and install on the opposite side. Believe it or not, the change of direction was easy too. Just take out the stator (there are a few magnets and copper windings inside) and flip it! I will explain…

Great for my old Nutone fans

I have Nutone model 8830 exhaust fans and have used this motor to replace the old 4135 motor which was delivered with them in 1966. You will need to cut the shaft off a bit with a hacksaw as it is long and you will need to turn 3 screws to attach the motor to the old bracket in your Nutone fan (this is easy, just do them individually). Time to keep the motor from falling apart when they're all at once!), but other than that it's a great replacement. Cleans the air much faster than dying old…

Pros
  • Single phase - shaft dimensions ΒΌ" x 1"
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Fits perfectly. - Electrical

I used this motor to replace the motor on an old Nutone kitchen extractor fan, probably from the 1960's or so. I didn't and still don't have a model number or a way to identify them exactly, but I've included a picture of the internal grille in case anyone sees they have a similar model, assuming they were then sold as a whole. .Because this is just an engine, the bracket and fan blade had to be removed from the old engine and placed on top of it. If someone is replacing a similar model to…
