DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. THIS IS A TERRIBLE INTRODUCTION TO ANIMALS. ALSO IT DOESN'T WORK. A CAT CANNOT BE HURT. IF YOUR CAT'S CRYING CONCERNS YOU, TAKE THE CAT TO YOUR VET. IF YOU CAN'T, FIND A NEW AND SUITABLE HOME FOR YOUR CAT.

It vibrates when the cat purrs. A big no no for me.

I was originally for the collar. It worked, we only put it on our cat at night because he has trouble mewing and screaming at night. He stopped meowing at night, thought it was good. Until one morning I went shooting and my cat greeted me with a purr in the morning. Noticing that it was working, I vibrated to make it purr and let it rush away from me. That's when I decided it wasn't worth it.

Crying cat for collars

My cats have never successfully worn collars - they will have time to stick their jaws in them - so I had doubts. But they had no problem wearing it at all. I don't think they like it and they tend to scratch a bit when I take it off, but that's what happens when there's a constant buzzing. My cats are stubborn. But at least I feel better because SOMETHING is yelling at her when I'm trying to sleep and at least I don't have to get up and do it. They stop quicker but still complain a little, but

Terrible machine, bad design, turns off when the cat purrs!

I had high hopes for this but I had a long haired cat at first, even when I tried shock mode it probably didn't register because of all the fur. The actual impact electrode is very small. Second, I could hear the device working as my cat just sat next to me and purred, he learned to just ignore it! After all, it was very contradictory. Trying to use it with both sound settings didn't do anything, my cat squeaked and meowed, and the device turned off maybe less than a quarter of the time. I…

I only use the vibration/sound function! No shock!

I like it. My cat goes haywire at night running around the house dropping things and he did this for months before I thought he would get his bedroom at night where he had nothing to knock over. But he really doesn't like solitude so if I put him there he will NOT sleep but just sits by the door and meows for hours. A few weeks later I took a closer look at training collars after everything else I had tried had failed. I only wear it at night because I don't care if it meows during the day. And
