🔊 SMAKN PAM8406 Amplifier Board - Premium German Quality! Exceeds PAM8403 Performance! Review

This little amp is great! It can make my speakers spin. I used it with 8 inch 125w speakers for testing and the sound got really loud. Connections are good (not like other amplifier boards I've bought in the past). Labels are clear and easy to use and customize. There is no power adapter included but I just cut the cords in an old phone charger and just plugged it in.

Sound works well, plays nice and loud. I'm not sure why the German quality is mentioned in the product name. It's clearly made in China, as evidenced by the poor grammar in the product description and the somewhat sloppy hand soldering. There was some kind of white powder coating on the circuit board. Possibly soldering flux or contaminated cleaning solution. I took it to work and washed it with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Sounds nice, but not loud. Works for hours with a bluetooth board like a single 18650. It has a very low input gain. To get it up to full volume, a preamp is absolutely necessary. I replaced it with a blue board with pots. It works better and louder without a preamp. I also replaced the capacitor with the best Nichicon Gold I bought with this board. Note that I have enough signal without a preamp. I put two jumpers on the resistors at the inputs, and I did a little, but a little louder. But…

I don't know why they lie that he is German. To me, this huge trust issue already tells me what kind of person the seller is, dishonest. I bought PAM8403, PAM8610 and TDA7297 and found your little amplifier. I'm so glad I did this as the amp works great in my smallest cigar box amp/speakers. I used the PAM8403 for my small applications and projects until I discovered SMAKN's PAM8406. Simply put, this 6 watt BOIT amp is housed in my Oliva Nub Habana 464T cigar speaker/amp. Do not get me wrong. The PAM8403 is a good amplifier suitable for small applications and projects. However, the PAM8406 doubles the power in the same footprint
