Garbage! No guarantee! on video

the camera worked perfectly excellent zoom and image stabilizer. I'd love that, but a device less than 1 year old won't hold a charge even when plugged in. The 1 year warranty is wrong. Panasonic charges a fee to repair defective parts after 90 days and also charges $75 for diagnostics. I have used the camcorder maybe 5 times and never neglected it. My question is how would you even get a 1 year warranty since they charge you a unit cost fee for any work after 90 days. This is false and…

Terribly bad design. Find something else.

Worst camera ever! If I could give this camera a lower rating I would! You can't know if you're recording or not. The red light stays on regardless of whether the record button is pressed. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY PICTURES I MISSED because I thought I was taking when I really wasn't. So YES all my reviews are one star for picture quality, image and zoom BECAUSE THE PHOTO MISSES ME due to their design. Although you can see the DATE in the viewfinder and set the date format in the settings…

Basic camcorder at a good price

When I bought this HC-V180K camcorder, it was mainly intended to be used as a dash cam or window cam, sometimes for travel use. Camera or cheap video recorder. But I settled on the HC-V180K as an all-in-one photo/camcorder/DVR that fits my $200 budget. As a dashcam, it works well with a wide field of view at 1 zoom. There are settings that let you choose between file types and resolution if you want the files to be smaller and allow for more recording time. The functions are controlled via a…

A video camera that really zooms!

This is my first camcorder and I love it. I love photographing birds but they are too easy to startle before you take a picture. So I bought this camcorder with a 50x optical zoom lens. Wonderful! I can be 200 meters away and still get a decent picture and they won't fly away. I set the max zoom to 90X and still get very good pictures! I've shot a lot of mule deer and most of the time I can get as close as I want. I took the shot across the mighty Columbia River and to the top of a mountain on…

Great! (not in low light only)

This is a great product for the purpose it is intended for and it seems like a lot of the negative reviews are written by people who didn't research their purchase properly. I understand the frustration, but if you know what it can and can't do before you buy it, you won't be disappointed! Let me give you some pros and cons to explain what I mean. At the end I have a little explanation of what you can expect from the image quality. Pros - Zoom: Zoom is awesome! I shoot most of my videos with a…
