Speaker not working

I bought two of these phones. The speaker function does not work on either. Unfortunately we found out too little too late and couldn't return it. It's terrible not being able to use the speaker. Before this phone, we had two-line phones that worked great. I would give this phone a zero if I could.

Pros
  • Long range
Cons
  • Contemporary

Poor quality - landline phones

I ordered three of these phones for my small busy office. They have a little echo, and when we use hands-free, the echo gets worse. The only thing we don't use is the speaker function. Also, if you put the phone on hold and pick up another phone, the first phone's hold feature is not automatically released. This is very annoying. I feel really bad for writing a 3 star review. We keep the phones because I needed them immediately and it was hard to find more than one two line phone.

Terrible office electronics phone

This phone is driving me crazy and I really need to find a good replacement. First, the speakerphone doesn't work at all. The sound quality is terrible and the people on the other end of the line can't hear me, which indicates a bad microphone. Second, something is wrong with the dial tones. When I try to respond to VRU prompts, VRU consistently misinterprets keystrokes. Sometimes individual keystrokes are skipped or duplicated. This also happens when I dial very slowly and with extreme…

Loudspeakers on all 3 phones defective

I bought 3 of these for our office a few weeks ago. I had a speakerphone that worked fine for 2 days, started breaking down on day 3 and then stopped working entirely. Since I'm the only one using the speakerphone, I decided to replace it with one of the other two phones. It turned out that the other two were also dead. I contacted Panasonic to see if some settings could be changed and they confirmed the phones are faulty. Otherwise, I liked the phones, but the hands-free defect in 3 out of 3…

Good phone but some issues

I received the phone a few days ago and it is a beautiful phone with fairly easy to use features. The phone is solid and the keyboard is comfortable. I especially like the backlit keys. The caller ID actually works, unlike my last Panasonic phone which only saved missed calls and didn't show the number after I picked up the phone. The display is easy to read and using the 4 lines is very simple and intuitive. Unfortunately I will have to return the device. The dial lag issue mentioned by…

4 years later - this phone is now improved

Another update 4/23/11 Adding to the comments below. In our own AT&T 1070 vs. Panasonic KX-TS4200B comparison, we finally settled on the AT&T 1070. Due to speaker/intercom line quality issues, both phones have this issue which, since the intercom works on radio frequencies, is usually caused by outside interference. So, in addition to my earlier comments below, 2 recommendations for determining the cause: 1. Make sure your mobile phone is not normally placed next to the phone on the table2…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Annoying
