Great lens for m4/3 users!

I use this on my new Olympus PEN-F. Amazing optical performance! Clear and high-contrast image even at a distance of 300 mm. Great value for money. Jane's plain lens in the looks department. The zoom ring isn't as smooth as we'd like. Lots of plastic, a bit of play, but hey, pics matter and even with those flaws this is a real winner! It has some autofocus issues. It can stutter and be confusing at times, especially in low light, but I have an Olympus 4/3 lens in the same focal length and price

Much better than Panasonic 45-200mm.

I used to have a Panasonic 45-200mm lens for my GH4. The ratings for this lens are misleading as the 45-200 sucks for professional photographers/videographers. None of the images were sharp/sharp. I was very skeptical that this one is any better, especially at a higher price point. This seller was the cheapest I could find for a new one. Damn cheaper than used B&H. Despite the fact that the instructions and everything was in a foreign language, this lens is great. The focus is 10 times better…

Essential lens for any m4/3 collection

Have been using this lens for about 6 months. It's hard to explain how great this lens is. I usually use prime lenses, but this lens is really good fun. Advantages: - The smallest interchangeable lens with this magnification. 12x optical zoom. I've used lenses of the same focal length and budget for DSLRs and this lens far outperforms them in terms of image quality. Autofocus is fast and that's the best part, since m4/3 cameras mostly use contrast detection instead of phase detection, focus is…

Not as difficult as I thought!

When I received this lens I expected it to be very heavy. I was surprised! It's heavy, but not nearly as heavy as my Panasonic 14-140mm lens. You might think that the fact that it's longer than the 14-140mm lens would be impractical, but that's not for me. But I scaled down a Canon 50D with a L 100-400mm lens and this setup weighed over 6lbs so 2lbs of this setup is a lot lighter anyway. The quality of the 100-300mm lens is good. It's not spectacular, but still very good. It's 600mm while my…

very well built and incredibly sharp

Before I pretty much switched to a Micro 4/3 system I was a full frame professional photographer with a Canon 5D MK 3 and a beefy Canon L 100-400mm lens. As I got older, this gear got heavier and harder to carry. Looking for something lighter but better quality, I bought a Panasonic GH3 with 12-35 and 35-100 Lumix lenses: an expensive combination but a simple marvel of image quality. For wildlife and bird shots, you still need a long telephoto lens. , I decided to try the Lumix 100-300mm lens…

Affordable 600mm f/5.6 lens

I recently bought this lens for my new Oly E-M5II camera. Its primary use is for bird photography, shorebirds on the Long Island Sound where I live and my personal friends at the backyard bird feeders. I tried this lens in the field at different combinations of aperture and shutter speed, ISO 800 to 1600. The E-M5II controls noise well up to ISO 1600 (I shoot in Raw and develop in Camera Raw or DxO Optics Pro). . A fully open lens shows visible light coming in at the edges, but a single stop…

A good lens for Olya OMD EM-5

I've had the lens for about 6 months now and I think it was a great purchase. The pros and cons are pretty simple to me: Pros: - Long range and fairly sharp throughout (very sharp 100-200mm). This is roughly the same field of view you get with 100-400mm f4-f5.6 on a DX sensor or 200-600mm on an FX sensor. I preferred it to the 200mm version because if I need to shoot at long distances I can spend a bit more and have range (telecovers aren't an option with these lenses) plus I would put the…
