Good sharp lens for lenses

Good lens. I use it as the main lens on my Panasonic GH4. It's so small compared to my Canon 24-70. The GH4's autofocus is good, super fast on photos and autofocus and tracking focus on videos. Not as fast as the 70D, but still very good ability to touch, focus and track that point on the screen.

Pros
  • There is something in this

Revainrating 5 out of 5

this is the best. I use it more than any other lens.

This lens is priced for a reason, because it's the best. I use it more than any other lens I own. It's perfect for almost any video shoot, and while I prefer a prime lens for stills, it gets the job done. It focuses so quickly and quietly. It's amazing.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Available in white only

and much better than the kit lens

I have several high quality Canon lenses so I wasn't expecting much. When it arrived I wasn't blown away by the build quality, but that quickly faded when I saw some of the pictures this thing takes. Under Grand, sharpness, saturation, etc. are excellent. Worth the money and of course much better than a whale lens.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Vulgarity

This one is a guard.

As others have said this is a great lens. It has a very useful zoom range, it's sharp and it's fun to shoot with. The constant F2.8 aperture is good, and I had no trouble shooting in fairly low light with this handheld. It looks well built, but it adds a noticeable amount to the camera's weight. It's not heavy, but it's not 25mm either. OIS works well and even better in combination with my GX8. Overall I am happy with the purchase of this lens and would recommend it.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Trade in

Sharp lens for photography but not very good for video

Good lens. It's very sharp and the build is solid. Feels great to use. If it was $500 it would be a great lens. This lens has one disadvantage when used with video. The specs say this is a constant f/2.8 aperture. and it is true and works for photography. However, when using this lens for video and zooming in on an object, flickering occurs, which appears to be caused by the aperture setting when zooming in. I would not recommend using this lens for video recording.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Compatibility

Japanese model is the best among camera lenses

Please note that this lens is shipped directly from Japan and Panasonic America does not guarantee it. And that's why it's much cheaper than other offerings of this model. I assumed this lens was new and I have nothing to believe other than that it wasn't in the box, warranty card or other paperwork. A cover was also missing on the lens mount side, replaced with a cover for connecting the camera. And there are very small scratches on the focus ring. If all of this bothered me, I would send it…

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • There are defects
