Such a waste! Best in Bead and Jewelry Making

I don't know exactly what wood it is but all it does is my wire pattern. I tried flattening a piece of wire for the bracelet and that did nothing except dent the wood from the wire. I think the wood is too soft for what I need. I thought it was a mandrel to bend and hammer the wire. The caliber was 18. Maybe my wire is too thick.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Almost Never

Hammer is excellent, mandrel leaves a lot to be desired. If that's in your budget I'd go with metal (both oval and round) but if you're in a bind this will work. I often use thicker wire to make bracelets and it already looks pretty cool when in use. However, if you tend to use thinner wires (20 gauge and up), this may suit your needs.

Pros
  • Ideal for making bangles and bangles from soft non-ferrous metals
Cons
  • No instructions

Shaft not fully stepped

I've never had one so poorly made. There is no real "step". Runs smoothly and with all the problems of a regular spike (horizontal lines are deceptive, look for a real "step" on the sides). Not worth the extra money. Pretty useless for my work where I need a "step" function. It would be better to just buy the non-level version that comes with the hammer. If it's really as advertised, it's a cheaper option with an additional tool to use or backup.

Pros
  • Turnover Hammer: Multi-purpose tool with detachable ends. Plastic and metal faces. When working with metals, you need a rubber and plastic headed hammer to avoid scratching.
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

No measurement on the mandrel and poor quality hammer

For this evaluation, I use a free sandwich model; Compliment: The wooden mandrel is well made from a single piece of wood. Criticism: The hammer is too small, too light and feels uncomfortable in the hand. There is no way of knowing the size of your project, there are no measurement lines on the mandrel. At $18.99 it's overpriced and we ended up sending it back. Compliment: The return went smoothly and we received a full refund. At a retail price of €9.99 I would give it 5 stars.

Pros
  • Easy-to-use rubber mallet can quickly repair a round bracelet
Cons
  • Obsolete model
