Okay, but I'd invest in a metal frame if I were going to do it all the way.
Hammer is excellent, mandrel leaves a lot to be desired. If that's in your budget I'd go with metal (both oval and round) but if you're in a bind this will work. I often use thicker wire to make bracelets and it already looks pretty cool when in use. However, if you tend to use thinner wires (20 gauge and up), this may suit your needs.
