Great product, much cheaper than automatic!

Great product! Very strong, mounted on the stern of my 22ft skiff and used with an 8ft power pole. Holds the boat in place in sand and mud, I used it alone in a tidal current moving at around 5-7 knots. Works just like my buddy with the $1300 motor.

Pros
  • Solid design
Cons
  • Small parts

Very easy to install

Used on the stern of a 22ft Hurricane deck boat. Great product to keep you on sandbars or springs. I also use this to slow drift speed when fishing in shallows, from 6-8 to 1/2 mph depending on rod tension. Great product, a must have if you don't want to spend money on a power pole.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Bad experience

Works as advertised, not built to last.

I like it, everything is strong but the sockets inside are not very good. Around the pool, through the manhole, I had to call the bank several times just to hold the stern of the boat while it was on the shore. I never used the lock, didn't think I needed it. The socket at the top of the lock fell out of its bracket and I almost lost it. Maybe just a bad load of glue or whatever they use to hold it in.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Protection

Room for improvement

Features 304 or 440 stainless steel fasteners in the anchor clamping mechanism. It will rust in salt water if not rinsed thoroughly. I would recommend using CorrosionX or something similar. Also, O-rings are only suitable for a perfectly flat transom. Also, I don't trust the supplied self-tapping screws to attach them to the boat's aluminum transom. 3M 5200 seals better and increases the security of the attachment. For attachment to very thin sheet metal, it is better to use screws with washers

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • reliability

Very good quality on boat

I have not used this system before so my review reflects my opinion of the quality of the product as it appeared and the timely delivery from the supplier. The delivery service even gets 5 stars. The fit and finish, including the welds, seem very acceptable to me. I've never given much thought to the function of the stem lock cams, but after seeing it I think it will be used. Again, I have yet to install or use an anchor system. I'm just giving an assessment of my first impression in terms of…

One of the easiest offshore rigs I've ever made.

This screw is very easy to install on the back of a flat stern boat. If you watch my video in this review, I would prefer someone to make a brace that attaches to both my outer and inner splints. Every bracket I've seen only connects to one track or the other, not both. That way someone can put the talon behind the cannon and then there's room for an electric outboard or kicker and the boarding ramp stays on the other side. Considering I bought this to install and drill holes in the transom, I…
