Parafilm JX903 Grafting Tape Clear Review

I only managed to use it for 7 transplant applications, after that it was not used anymore. I think that's it. The rest is garbage. My score is one because zero is not recognized. Should not be sold on Amazon.

I used this tape to wrap fig cuttings during the rooting process. It stretches slightly and sticks to itself to keep the end from falling off. I used to work in a chemistry lab and this product is very similar to the Parafilm I used in the lab.

I was concerned reading other people's negative reviews but when I received the finishing bands they were just what I needed. These are real professional finishing tapes. No cheap plastic like cling film. They are covered with wax. They are elastic and self-adhesive. They are waterproof but allow plants to breathe and grow. Mine were perfectly packaged and delivered to me in perfect condition.

This roll came in a clear plastic bag with a label that didn't say Parafilm. So I'm not sure what I actually got. The tape itself seemed quite thick, but at the same time it tears fairly easily with minimal tension. It doesn't stick to itself that well because if you pull on the tape it just tears. Better than grafting masking tape, but only time will tell

Not suitable for grafting figs. Figs are the easiest to transplant, but this parafilm tape is too strong. It limits the growth of new buds and prevents the buds from gurgling. Others on YouTube noted that their transplants didn't take root with "Parafilm". The only plus is that it creates a strong band pressure on the joint. To get it right, you need to get yourself a Japanese buddy cartridge. I could try Japanese tape up to the graft and then this parafilm at the junction for reinforcement.

This is supposed to be real Parafilm. Well, this interests me because real parafilm (the kind used in labs) has a paper backing that keeps the film from sticking to itself until you unroll it and peel off the paper. This roll expired within 2 weeks as the entire roll became a single piece (all glued together). I used it a few times before this happened and found it a little thicker than real parafilm. UPDATE: After responding to my feedback from buyers, they have informed me that this parafilm adheres with hand heat by working around the graft area. It's good for vaccinations. That's not what I bought it for though (fixing a broken stem) as it would instantly tear the stem off if I continued to work on it with my hands.
