Conte pastels are a bit more expensive than other brands but well worth it. The colors harmonize very well with each other.

They are more like chalk than the other pencils I currently use. They're very brittle, but if you have a blender stick, that's good because you can mix colors better with the powder that's left from the stick. I'll try wet one to see if it leaves a deeper color, like real chalk. Very different than what I'm used to and I'm glad I have a new format to work with!

I love these pens! I saw them for the first time in Australia and decided to give it a try (any color). Colors are bright. Pastel colors are not as chalky as some pencils. My only problem was finding a sharpener big enough to sharpen pencils as the width is slightly wider than a regular colored pencil. I solved this when I was shown how to sharpen them with sandpaper and later found a sharpener at an art store.

You work great. Very lively and smooth. But the photo provided is not true and I'm surprised no one mentioned it. The colors it shows are not what I received. I check the product number and receive the correct product. The green and blue look more pastel in the photo, but in the box they are your default blue and green. It also looks like I have a lilac purple crayon and there is only dark pink. So I was disappointed with the whole thing, but I did a test drawing and the colors look good on…
