The HCW-17 features two different radius hooks for a precise fit on most head-gear lockrings. One is sized to fit rings with an outside diameter of 41 to 42mm. The other side fits rings of 43 to 44mm. Also fits single-speed cassette hubs using lockrings with external notches.

Misaligned first generation Mini Cooper windows?

Looking for a bike wrench to loosen the odd tooth locknut and adjust the height of the power windows on your 2002 thru 2006 Mini Cooper? Look no further. That's him. Be gentle and look for good direction if you don't know how to get the job done.

Good but dangerous in sport

Tool is good for removing and tightening circlips. Be careful with it though, maybe even wear gloves when using it. It doesn't have any radius on the edges at all, so they're pretty sharp. I cut my finger on the opposite side of the key when I pushed to release the locking ring. I also have a splinter of metal in my finger. But it does the job.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Contact seller

Don't Buy: Shop Tools

Let me start by saying that I love most park tools. I own many. I think they make quality instruments. So why did I give one star? It's inefficient. I have never been able to remove the snap ring with this tool. Eventually I found the right special tool, but it's not. It slips too easily and can damage or wear out the locking rings. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the HOZAN C-203 is the right tool for removing snap rings on fixed gear rear hubs.

Parktool wins again

I was immediately excited when I shifted my first gear with this tool. It even took off the broken snap ring that I thought was on the wheel the whole time. The good quality of the tool guarantees a tight and precise fit on the locking ring, while the extra length provides perfect leverage and keeps the knuckles further away from the spokes. I taped the end I don't use for better support and cushioning. This is the park tool; You always get the best quality.

I love park instruments in general so I'm always happy.

I love park instruments in general so I'm always happy to add another piece to my collection. For about the same price as buying a bike from a shop to change a rear sprocket, I was able to buy this tool plus a park chain whip and was able to just do it myself and I now have the ability to change the gears on my fixed gear to switch gears when I want. The tool itself has been sold and I feel like I can actually twist it as hard as I want.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Expensive

Surprisingly durable tool

Io for starters, I went to a bike shop once and it cost me $8 to tighten my locking ring considering the price when taken is a bit more than double the one I bought. This tool is made of durable, high-quality steel, making it easy to remove and tighten the locking ring (if you choose the right size). Я использовал этот инструмент уже дважды, так как первоначальная затяжка в веломагазине не длилась долго, такой недорогой инструмент, но настолько эффективный в своей работе, что его необходимо…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Good but not great
