Park Tool Offset Brake Wrench Review

Wrench is exactly as described and works great. You should be prepared for some bruising or pain due to the thinness of the wrench. But that's a big part of what makes this key work so well. It allows you to get into hard-to-reach places.

Nothing special about this tool until you need it. This makes adjusting side brakes much easier than fiddling with pliers and adjustable wrenches. This tool will not work with every caliper (due to caliper design and/or disability). In fact, I've only found it useful on one of my 10 (or so) bikes, but it was perfect for that. designed to be held in place.

Many road bikes or older bikes with side brakes require you to apply or true the brakes and adjust braking. This beautiful little wrench is the ticket. A narrow fit allows you to tilt and tighten or adjust the nut without interfering with the caliper. This instrument is also made in the USA in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Great tool and five stars.

Centering the side brake is a problem if you don't have the right key. I couldn't find mine (whoever borrowed it, could you return it?). So I got this as a replacement. It's pretty simple by Park's standards, just a flat piece of stamped metal. But the ends are well made and fit most side pulls I have, including a pair that uses 70 bolts for extra reach. If your brakes don't have wrench flats on the center bolt, you're out of luck. Otherwise, it's a useful tool.
