Description of Park Tool TB 2 Emergency Tire

The TB-2 measures approximately 76mm x 45mm (3" X 1.75"). A super strong pressure sensitive adhesive assures the boot stays in place in any tire, road or mountain, high or low pressure. Works perfectly. Best in Tools and Equipment

Works great. I had a huge screw in my Continental Gatorskin that snapped a couple of the laces. I popped one of them in, replaced the tube, bled it to 120psi and there was no bulge at all at the puncture site. I carry them in my small wedge bag. They take up almost no space. The packaging says to use it to get you home in an emergency, but I'll keep riding this tire with my boots on. I'm sure it will last. For a few bucks I saved a $50 tire.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • High price

It looked like it might work, but due to my puncture it didn't last.

This week on my mountain bike on a mountain bike cut the tire with a sharp stone. I applied the patch to the inner side panel, when I pumped air out of the CO2 can it lasted a few seconds but didn't last. Maybe I didn't clean the sidewall enough (latex holes in the tire). Or maybe it was a tear that was too big. My advice is to take a patch along with a spare camera. Don't forget CO2 cartridges or at least a mini pump.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are problems

Could you save your trip!

After my boyfriend suffered a bad blow on a trip last week, I gave him my only tire boot, so I had to order more. Stumbled across these park tool boots and wow they're expensive but having them saves you a trip and a potentially expensive cab ride home. So if you use them on my road bike I highly recommend cutting them in half as they are too big for a 25mill tire unless you completely tear the tire in half which is fine and you also have six shoes instead of three.

  • Best
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than others

not for emergencies .and .

I have a 1mm pinion sprocket on an external new MB tubeless tyre. I was thinking of taking the whole tire off, peeling off all the sealant, repairing from the inside would be strong enough, so I hope it will be better than a regular patch. It's a very large stain, but it doesn't seem to stay or attach to the tire. Dropped out, adheres very poorly to the inner surface of the tire. Completely failed after repeated cleaning of the surface. The last solution is to buy flexible super glue and use…

  • Pleasant to use

Saved my trip and got me home. What else do you need?

Bought these TB-2s 2 years ago. After two years in my bubble bag it's a little wrinkled, picked up some dust around the edges and still works great. I had a cut on a tire with a bulging tube that resulted in an immediate puncture. I was able to patch the tube and place the TB-2 in the tire without completely removing the tire. In just a few minutes I was patched and back on the road. I was concerned the glue wasn't strong enough but the tire pressure held it in place and I was able to ride the…

  • Nice thing

200 mile insurance plan

The Park Tool Crash Boot is perfect when the streets don't cooperate and get rid of the junk. It goes on a big torn bike tire like a sticker. I drove about 200 more miles on this tire before I started to feel a bump while riding. After 20 miles my tire blew out and I changed it and put on another emergency boot. This time I'll heed the word "emergency" and quickly change the tire. For a few bucks, it really is better than walking home with a large piece of glass or rock ripping a big chunk out…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Thick and large enough for emergency repairs.

I haven't used it yet but it seems more than enough for this purpose. Based on an article I once read about cycling emergencies, I always carry Mylar granola bar wrappers in my bag for this purpose. The only time I've ever tried that, it didn't work. The tube is pushed out. I think there is a limit to how big a cut will work. I tried patching some tires with tube patches. Again, there's a limit to how well this works. I have two almost new Michelins with holes in the sidewalls of the tires. One

  • Stable test results

  • I vaguely remember
