Great little tool! in wrenches

Not quite sure how to rate the accuracy of this tool. I lack calibrated standards. But it's definitely easy to use and behaves exactly as I expected. I've been using it a lot for the last 4 months or so since I got a carbon bike frame I built. It didn't work without it. Very quickly goes from 2 Nm to the maximum. The ratchet head is a bit too big for the occasional tight spot, but that didn't stop me from ending up tightening each bolt to spec. The clicks made it very clear when that…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

Works like a wrench, not a torque wrench

When I first used it at 2.5nm for spikes, it looked like a wrench, it didn't click or give like my other torque wrench by Park (built in USA). The second time I tried using it I decided to test it out on a bit in a vise first just to make sure it acted like a torque wrench before messing up another pair of spikes. At 2nm and with all my might it didn't give or click, it was just a wrench. I almost broke my head, she's actually pretty weak. I re-read all the instructions to make sure I missed…

First one was defective - Park got it right

Very disappointed with the quality especially at this price. Took it out for the first time at a bike build this weekend and the key doesn't "click" when tightened (it flexes slowly). I tried calling Park to see if there was anything I could do but they don't work weekends. I'll probably return that if Park doesn't provide support at Tuesday's reopening. Edit: Received immediate response from park warranty team. They send me a new one. Upgraded to 2 stars until obtained. Edit #2: Got a…

Solid Bike Torque Wrench

This tool does exactly what it says on the tin and appears to be very reliable. I don't mind converting from Nm, but I need a lb-in or lb-ft torque wrench. it's just me Also, I don't see the point of using this wrench on anything other than a bike handlebar: stem, grips, shifters, etc. It just doesn't have much reach. I'll grab other BB torque wrenches or a cassette locknut. And I don't really need this torque wrench, except on my bike. I have used it and loved it but if I had to do it again I…

  • Decent Performance

Overview of the TW-5 and TW-6 torque wrenches

Medium could not be loaded. I have both TW-5 and TW-6 torque wrenches and would like to point out that you really need either both wrenches or probably a torque wrench with a longer continuous range. The TW-5 has a range of 26-132 in-lbs, the TW-6 has a range of 88-530 in-lbs. This means the TW-5 is great for small projects like tightening bolts on brakes, derailleurs, etc. For bottom bracket, pedal, or crank work, you will need a larger TW-6 wrench than procedures such as bottom bracket…

To make it easy to find the right one

I've tried using torque wrenches from port freight and home storage but they don't seem to tighten properly. I'll have to calibrate them and see what happens, luckily none of my parts broke trying to use them. etc. Most other torque wrenches you find have an upper torque limit, mostly for auto parts. I had a hard time finding one that matched the bike components I needed. I also got an extra parking tool socket and bit set because although I have many tools/bits I didn't have a socket set and…

Not as good as the much cheaper and more accurate Tekton 24320

Update 2017 In early March 2015, I learned that Park Tools contracted to manufacture the TW-5 torque wrench with a supplier in Taiwan who uses the same factory in China as Tekton. . After doing a little research, I found that the same factory that makes this Park Tools TW-5 also makes the Tekton 24320 (Park Tools TW-5 is around $104-$118 and Tekton 24320 is around $41 -Dollar). big difference). Of course being suspicious, I ordered a Tekton 24320 and tested it on my Park Tools TW-5. To test…
