If the value of this item were based on the laughs it gets you would pay A LOT more. I think it paid off right after two reactions. I've found that the best way to prank someone is to leave them somewhere, and their curiosity will make them open it up. You can't pass it on to anyone as they seem to know something is wrong. Have a great time at home and work with family and friends who jump out of your skin. Some people actually jumped and didn't even open the box.

If made better it could be a good prank toy. The sunroof was just too narrow and could slip into the box when pushed. There wasn't enough time to get a replacement before it had to be donated, so I was forced to take it apart and make the sunroof a bit wider to stay in its grooves as it slides back and forth. If you just check the work and make corrections at the time of manufacture, the problem will not arise.

The spider is visible when you open the lid. You have to move the lid quite a bit before it actually starts lifting out of the box. As a result, most people stop opening the lid as soon as they see a spider. It's a little scary, but not quite what I expected. It would be just as scary if the box was just a motionless fake spider. Bought this as a prank for the office. The first impression was not very good. The box's lid is loose and sloppy to the point that when you tilt it the lip just falls off. The rope and mechanism for pulling the spider out of the box were well designed, but poorly and cheaply made. With the long rope that came with the box, the spider doesn't start to rise until the lid is halfway open. At this point you will see the prank and it is more of a joke than a panic.
