Update my review. Bought August 2019, review - February 2020. I installed them on my Pontiac G8 as license plate lights. One of the bulbs flickers on 3 of the 4 sides, the other bulb flickers intermittently on one side (these bulbs are essentially square with a cluster of LEDs on each of the 4 sides). I tried to rekindle the contacts as shown in the photos. and description, but this is not a matter of contact. I'll replace them with something else.

With this light it is possible but difficult to read my sign from the 50 feet required, almost impossible from the 100 feet required in some states. It has to do with my eyesight and a police car can read it at night since their headlights are on. However, if your goal is to be outdoors, look for a brighter choice. That's good enough for those of us who don't care, but if you want to be safe from illegal pretext searches (and be able to prove the officer lied to dismiss evidence on appeal)…

Sometimes they go out and now some diodes are blinking. Have been using them for over 6 months. However, they are very bright compared to incandescent bulbs. Update July 7, 2018 (7 months ownership): Rating changed to 1 star. Tried repeatedly to reinstall the bulb and check the contacts. It wasn't about that. I came to the conclusion that the LEDs are bad. Replaced with Sylvania LEDs which come with a 12 month guarantee and stop flickering as much after 7 months of use. There is a quality issue

I installed these in the car yesterday. I LOVE their color and you won't see them on many cars. My problem with them (and maybe they aren't meant for my machine) is that they didn't work when I plugged them in. I took them out, turned them over and still nothing. The only way to get them working was to take them out and then they would work. Before that I bought bright white JDM LED lights and they worked great, but I wanted something that wasn't that simple. I hope it will be easier for others

I installed them on my 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe. My license plate taillights failed and I got them as a replacement. Replacing the bulbs was easy. The only difficulty was removing the lamp housing, which took a lot of patience! They have been on my car for a little over a year and they are still as bright as they were originally. I'm only giving them a 3 because after installing them they didn't work, turns out I had to turn the light switch far to the right side and then they seem to turn on, my lights were always set to "Auto" so they turn on automatically at dusk so I'm still not sure if they will work. Does anyone else have this problem? I can use some suggestions. I guess if I get a ticket I'll have to put the originals back on! If I solve the problem I will repost and amend the review. I noticed that my old Tundra license plate bulbs were burned out. Went to Revain and found these cheap LEDs. I'm switching everything to LEDs because the bulbs are burning out. $5 for a pair. What's not to like about it? So I grabbed a screwdriver and pulled out the holders. It took about 30 seconds. I plugged in the first LED and it flickered. 1 of 2 number plate lights went out on my 2003 Corolla so I upgraded both to these LEDs. Using 2 provided even lighting across the bowl but less power than my old incandescent bulb. I had to rotate 1 lightbulb 180 degrees to make it work. Ideally, this means getting rid of the felt panel in the trunk by removing a couple of reusable pads.
