I use them on a van that I converted into a van so when I go camping I can just drop the van, attach the handle and go. When the van is loaded it blocks my brake lights half way so I added this strip just in case. This is the third one I've installed over the years as they tend to take some abuse. However, I will say that this one seems to be better built and tougher than the rest. The lighting connector is very strong and not flimsy like others I've used. It might last a while!

Used on 04 Colorado. Use a universal wire harness to attach the trailer lights. The brake light couldn't be made to work with that seat belt, but it didn't make much of a difference ($5). After that I found the plug adapter I was supposed to use made by Hopkins (12632871) for $35. But it's still very bright and looks amazing at night. This tailgate light is not worth the time and effort to install. I installed it on my truck and it worked great until I drove it in wet weather when water got into the protective cover. This not only looks bad, but also affected the light output. When I turn on the turn signal, the other side also flashes, but not as brightly, but both sides flash at the same time. Came and works exactly as described. The exact dimensions are given. Very satisfied with the performance of this product after a few days of use. I installed it on a flat strip of aluminum and wedged it under the bumper at an effective, adjusted angle to ensure fog visibility for other following drivers.
