Great compact drive so far

I've had this drive for a few months now and it has held up well and has made a few rides so far. This disc is very small and easy to use. The included hard case is great and seems to protect the drive well and helps keep up with the USB cable. I'll probably buy another one when my large desktop drive dies.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Non automatic drive

Tiny but packed with storage for photographers on the go

This is my second purchase of a WD Passport drive and I was not disappointed. USB transfer times are excellent and the drive does not require a separate power supply, so perfect for when you're a photographer on the go. Case Logic's small case protects your drive from bumps and dents.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • So-so

It's not USB C 3.2 Gen 1. It's USB 3.1 Gen 1

No USB-C connector, it's a regular USB 3.0/3.1 connector with a regular USB cable. It says USB 3.1 Gen2 in bold, then USB C below that, then USB 3.1 Gen 1, and then USB 3.2 Gen 1 below that. I can say with absolute certainty that it's not USB C. I haven't run any benchmark tests to determine if it's 3.2 or 3.1. I wanted a 3.2 USB-C drive but I won't be returning it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

This is the fourth Western Digital 4TB hard drive I've bought - none of them had any problems. Use them to back up my computer's hard drive and also back up my digital music collection once to one of the drives and then a second time to a third drive. No problem playing WAV music files from these external backup drives. I now use Disk 4 to back up documents, photos and music files on my wife's computer before saying goodbye to her computer which she is replacing with a laptop. There were no…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Flawed

Not a bad portable drive!

I bought this drive to use as a simple portable backup solution for my laptop and am quite impressed so far. It's a fast drive and very easy to use. No complicated cables to connect and no special software to use. Just plug it into your computer and it works like a USB flash drive, copy, drag and drop and you're done! The read/write speeds of this drive are impressive, so copying files doesn't take long. My first backup to this drive was 256GB of data and it took no more than 5 minutes. A very…
