Disappointing Performance

i purchased the adapter hoping it would make transferring files from my compact flash memory cards easier but I was disappointed with its slow transfer speed. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice with computers, I know that a faster transfer speed is possible with other memory card accessories. The only positive is that it is compact and easy to carry around. However, the slow performance makes it not worth the hassle..

Pros
  • Allows for transfer of data between a CompactFlash card and a computer through a PCMCIA slot.
Cons
  • May cause compatibility issues with newer computers that do not have a PCMCIA slot.

Unreliable adapter ruins data transfer

As my tests showed this adapter often fails to read or copy files from CompactFlash cards. The build quality feels flimsy and it is difficult to insert and remove cards. The only upside is its small size, but that is not enough to justify the frustration and lost data..

Pros
  • Allows old laptops with PCMCIA slots to read and write data to CF cards.
Cons
  • Requires a laptop with a PCMCIA slot, which limits compatibility with newer laptops that do not have them.

Pcmcia works great on Fanuc CNC machines

These CF PCMCIA adapters work great with our Fanuc CNCs. Purchased with 1GB cards and linked to software for installation on our CNC machines.

Pros
  • Converting a 50 pin CompactFlash card to a 68 pin PCMCIA interface
Cons
  • Minor issues
