Pedros 6451300 Bicycle Cog Wrench Review

The serrated wrench does exactly what you want in a slightly unconventional package. I really like the big grip, although I'll probably never need the leverage it allows.

I liked this tool because it got rid of the chain whips I was using. It takes a while to get the hang of the 11 tooth gearing, but it works.

I had to return mine. Either the rounded cassette retaining ring will not snap into place, or the cassette retaining ring tool will not go deep enough into the hole on the sprocket wrench. However, it had almost zero success.

This thing works like a spell. One side sticks to the 12 tooth cogs, the other side to the 11 tooth cogs. There is no need to wrap the chain tool around the sprocket and it easily fits any tool with a retaining ring, including Crombie tools. It's also a lot cheaper than Pedro's whip, which I also considered.

Based on mixed reviews of even the best chain whips I decided to use a notched wrench instead. I've never used a chain whip so can't compare but it works well and is cheaper than the competition. This only gives you the 2 smallest ring options instead of 4, but works great if like me you have 11 or 12 teeth. I was concerned about the center play of the locking ring tool, but it fits perfectly with the IceToolz pen cartridge locking ring tool.

It was even better than I expected as it was on sale and the photo showed an old handle style and I found out why. But instead I was glad to get a new updated wrench with a new durable tubular handle with a black MTB style grip for a comfortable and secure grip on the tool. I suppose the old yellow pen (as pictured) will do, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I got the new version instead. It suits me perfectly!
