I have used Pelican camera cases for many years. They have never given a reason to consider them less than the best. They are waterproof although I have never tested them in extreme conditions. I once had to swim my entire camera gear (55 pounds) in an open plastic barrel across a salt stream in Louisiana while swimming with scurrying crabs. A few years ago I wrote to Pelican and asked if they could make their memory card cases a bit bigger to fit more cards. They did it, but they didn't make it as big as I hoped. However, 6 CF cards now fit into the thing. What struck me about their new design is that the inner card holder is no longer rubber but rigid foam. From my experience of placing cards in perfectly formed pits, I've found that the foam can wear down over time. As this is new to me I can't say for sure so I'll have to check
