Non-waterproof ink!

This link is not waterproof even after three days of drying. It was used in a magazine on watercolor paper and bled when applying watercolor. This is not good drawing ink.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Discontinued model

This is a genuine Pelikan India fountain that I have used.

This is a genuine Pelikan India drinker that I have used for years and thought it was gone. You can even use it in the Rapidograph pen and won't clog it. (Assuming you actually use a pen.)

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good but not waterproof

I bought this mascara for comic pages. She was wonderful. The ink settled perfectly and flowed so easily through my pen. However, I have found that they are not waterproof at all! The ink smeared me a few days after the pages were done. Great ink, not really suitable for comics.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Perfect! for art supplies

I like this ink. It has a rich pelican black color and is waterproof so it can be used for watercolor painting. It has completely replaced my regular black Aurora and Pelican (not waterproof) even with normal use.

Pros
  • Valid
Cons
  • ---

Attention - this is NOT INDIAN INK

This ink is called INDIAN or CHINESE ink (same). THIS IS NOT INDIAN INK! as it is not permanent and does not work like the ancient Chinese or Indian Pelican ink that I have used (and love). It may be good for drawing, but ink is not. Be careful if you plan to cover it with anything.

Pros
  • Excellent general properties
Cons
  • Doubtful

Here is a summary of Pelikan Fount India

Based on other reviews there has been some confusion with this ink. I'll try to clear things up! Firstly, unlike some other reviews, Pelikan Fount India is an Indian ink, meaning that its color comes from a carbon pigment (like carbon black or lampblack) and not a dye. Traditional inks for technical pencils and brushes often contain shellac as a binder. When you use this type of ink, you literally paint the paper with ink. Fount India is designed for use in fountain pens and is therefore…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

name really goes with everything

good thick black ink, doesn't smudge, not waterproof so not suitable for watercolours, might be good for some markers, the longer they dry (1 to 3 days) the bigger it gets it becomes waterproof. I dilute it with distilled water to get different shades of grey, a nice neutral color with no red, blue or brown undertones. Excellent for pen and ink work with fountain pens, fountain pens and with a brush. It is less likely to cause problems with fountain pens than other manufacturers' carbon pigment

Pros
  • very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
