GET CUT OUT! good for fish and aquatic animals

I boiled a medium sized pot of water and dipped my length in it for about 30 seconds and let it hang until cool. This will get the creases out of the packaging, it really doesn't crease. They look a lot less manufactured. They work great. I wish they were greener. They're more of a blue-green color, so don't mix with plants.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some problems

After you go silicone.

My old clear hose became so stiff I hated working with it and had to cut off some of the connectors. It's so flexible yet holds tight to any fitting. I love the color too. It looks more like a teal and really disappears next to some greenery in the aquarium. It has an odd smell that doesn't wash off, but the fish don't complain.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

stays flexible in aquarium pumps and filters

This is a good hose if you have outdoor ponds or "water features" and live in a cold climate, it will stay flexible even in the freezing cold. It may need to be replaced at some point. after some time in spring or summer due to predators. Raccoons and possums frequent the ponds, they sometimes bite into these very flesh-like pulsating air tubes (out of fear or curiosity?) then they need to be replaced or patched. This only happened a few times.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

Must-Have: Fish & Aquatic Pets

This is a must-have. When I first set up my DWC hydroponic boxes for indoor winter lettuce growing, I used cheap clear semi-rigid plastic tubing from the big box store. It was very difficult to attach via the barbs to the items it was meant to connect. (pump, air stones, check valves, etc.) This tube met and exceeded all of my hopes/expectations. Went like clockwork. If there are long term quality issues I will update my review as I do with all my reviews. Although it is necessary at theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Ok for the most part, but...

I thought it would be very flexible and flexible - like surgical tubing - like hypotube. It is not. It's only slightly more flexible than standard vinyl channels. I wanted a really flexible hose that would easily straighten out under the weight of the air stone so the air stone would naturally fall to the ground and stay there. You know the problem - vinyl tubing is stiff and any kinks or kinks stay that way, leaving the vent just arching off the floor - so annoying. Well this silicone tubingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
