Description of Pentax 100mm f/2.8 WR D FA smc Macro Lens Review for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras

WR Weather Resistant design is ideal for use on popular PENTAX weather resistant DSLR bodies. Macro lens features a full 1:1 image magnification ratio (1X, Life Size); Lens not zoomable. D FA series lens features a "full frame" design, compatible with PENTAX film and digital SLR cameras, but optically optimized for digital imaging. Rounded aperture blades improve bokeh at wide apertures for silky smooth background de emphasis. PENTAX SP (Super Protect) coating on front lens element helps repel dust, water, and grease, while minimizing fingerprints.

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Despite the shortcomings, the picture quality draws this lens by 5 minus. Pros below: I'll add some reviews. I use it with a K-1 DSLR. 1. Suitable for macro and portrait photography. The macro has excellent detail, the portrait has a beautiful, softly blurred background. The picture of this lens is a solid five, what to say. 2. Compared to the 24-70mm zoom, it weighs like a feather. So for me it's a light lens. 3. You can shoot a subject not at the minimum focusing distance, then crop the…

Everything about the purchase suits me, a very necessary product.

I used it with different cameras, mainly with K-1 of both generations. I am very pleased with the results! It also works great on the crop. Would recommend to anyone who loves to take portraits. Different pros: Great picture, great light. Portraits and full-length photos are excellent. Especially good in full frame. The picture is great for shooting flowers. Small, light, compact Waterproof Reliable design with a minimum of external moving parts. Macro is already shooting centimeters from 20…

The average product, you can find a better one.

Bokeh - seen better . Colors - good . screwdriver - horror. Focus walks. For very leisurely macro photography. Different pros: Excellent image quality. The weight. That's all! Acquired relatively long time ago, from hands (3-4 years), practically new. Before the price hike. DESCRIPTION from the site "A high-quality fast autofocus macro lens SMC D FA MACRO 100mmF2.8 WR allows you to shoot miniature objects . allows you to take pictures at a sufficient distance from the object, very useful when…

Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

I took it as a macro-glass with the hope of universal qualities (I succumbed to the reviews of foreign sites). Hopes were fully justified: now I have him as a staff member (after SMS Pentah 16-45 / 4). It's solid - like a cast, the gentle rotation of a manual focus. It's a little heavy (but it's a metal case!), I can't attribute it to the shortcomings. As a portrait at 2,8 - a fairy tale (all the talk about the "dermatology" of macro glasses is generally from a misunderstanding that a sharp…

Pros
  • Metal case, durable construction, dust and moisture protection, small size, comfortable lens hood; sharp, contrasting, but without overshooting, plastic picture, excellent color rendition, excellent bokeh - just beautiful, high resolution throughout the field, holds light well - practically without "bunnies", front lens with a special coating that allows not to use a protective filter, genre versatility - you can shoot from macro to street and portrait, and it works great at 2.8, it's working - it doesn't lather, etc., you can sharpen manually on autofocus without switching (like all the latest lenses from Pentah)
Cons
  • It is sensitive to poor lighting and low-contrast objects - it is uncertainly aimed, it can be used (although this is on my old Penta K-10D), the rest of the behavior when focusing in in operational shooting is due to its specialization - after all, this is a macro lens
