Pentax 40Mm 2 8 Limited Silver Review

I understand why everyone is talking about this lens. Amazing picture quality and less than a pound. Great lens for the daily walk. Works well on K-1 with only occasional minor vignette fixes.

This lens bridges the gap between the DA HD 21mm and DA HD 70mm lenses. I used the same subject for all three lenses and took multiple shots with each lens. .THE IQ equaled or surpassed the other two lenses. All three have excellent color rendering. The IQ of the Pentax LTD series is consistently high. And the price of 40mm was more than cheap.

This is my favorite lens but lens hood is easy to lose. The lens hood is screwed onto the lens in the same direction as the lens cap. So if you don't keep your thumb on the lens hood, it's very easy to partially unscrew the lens hood when you unscrew the cap. I lost this hood on a walk last week. Today I retraced my steps and miraculously found it. I say "wonderful" because it's a very small part. A lens hood replacement costs $59.99, so heed this warning.

These are the best and lightest goggles. It's small and light and doesn't look like a serious lens until you see results. It's awesome. Anyone who regularly photographs with fixed focal lengths knows what a leap in quality you get compared to most zooms. This is no exception. It's wide open and very sharp at all f-stops in between.
