This is my favorite lens but lens hood is easy to lose. The lens hood is screwed onto the lens in the same direction as the lens cap. So if you don't keep your thumb on the lens hood, it's very easy to partially unscrew the lens hood when you unscrew the cap. I lost this hood on a walk last week. Today I retraced my steps and miraculously found it. I say "wonderful" because it's a very small part. A lens hood replacement costs $59.99, so heed this warning.
