Problems with wireless mode in HSS

I bought this flash solely for use as a cheap on-camera controller for my three AF540FGZ. I need an external flash because I shoot a lot with high-speed wireless sync. Unfortunately for some reason this device only consistently controls one of my 540s in the HSS. With the other two, he only gets them to fire occasionally. This is totally unacceptable and I will be returning this unit and buying another 540. I've never had a problem using any of the 540 as a master, controller or slave.

Great flash, cheap construction.

I love this flash, the pictures look great. I found the ability to use the built-in white card to diffuse bounce flash very useful. The white card also sets really nice accents in portrait shots. The only thing that confuses me is that the plastic is very flimsy and cheap. Quite the opposite of the robust construction of today's Pentax SLR cameras. The battery door is very poorly constructed and if you hit it with your hand even a little your 4 AA batteries will be thrown to the ground which…

This is a fair product for the price

It did everything it promised, well built and works very well and is also affordable. I have recommended many things for any Pentax camera, it also gives excellent results with my Lumix LX3 camera flash although it took quite a while to get it working. With this orientation, gravity works against the lid's locking mechanism, which is bad design practice. In addition, the partially open (2mm) position of the battery cover after the flash has been nudged or flipped to tilt the flash head. The…

Good flash for Pentax "strobists "

If you have a Pentax DSLR then this is the flash you are looking for. I was really debating whether I should go for a cheaper flash for off-camera use with a flash-activated on-camera optical slave, or rather get a 360 which gives me more options, especially when used on-camera. I am very happy that I chose Pentax. I'm so glad I ended up buying a second one. This is a good all round flash, easy to use and definitely great to use in combination with a Pentax DSLR. If you have two, you can use…

Pleasant flash for most

This is a very pleasant flash. Works as it should with a large number of settings available, multiple power settings in manual mode. You can set Manual TTL (P-TTL) or Auto, first curtain-back curtain hyperflash. It can be used with newer Pentax DSLRs or older film models. Or even single column cameras from old Spotmatics or other branded equivalents. If there are problems with other contacts, they can be closed with some adhesive tape. It offers a built-in diffuser and a built-in white…

Pentaxcentric Flash

The AF 360 FGZ flash is a solid and serious flash for Pentax P-TTL DSLRs. It acts as a master or on-camera controller to control other off-camera P-TTL flashes (for K110D, K100D, K200D users). I use it with others in P-TTL mode wirelessly and with Pentax cable Pentax F5P 9.5ft Pentax Flash Extender and Pentax F adapter. I also use it extensively in manual mode, both on and off camera (as a optical slave). The flash is well designed. For the most part, it's pretty solid. I've dropped it multiple

This is an amazing flash!

This is an amazing flash! Before I switched to Pentax which I think is currently the only brand driven by photography and not the marketing department; I was a HUGE fan of Minolta before Sony got it. And at one time, Minolta had really cool (even by today's standards) flashes. But even this Minolta is far, far from what the brainchild of Pentax can do! Primarily for all K10D owners, this flash will function as a smart remote flash controlled by or in combination with your camera's flash. Just…
