Comparable to Tombow Fudenosuke

Nice color variety! If you're into brush calligraphy, they're good for small lettering (image #1). They release more ink (image #2). [Arrived on time and in good condition.] Overall: Satisfied! Worth buying!

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Sad device

Fantastic Pens!: Calligraphy Pens

Bought these to practice brush writing - they are great for a beginner like me. I was looking for something for my bullet magazine (moleskin; 5 x 8 1/4 inches) and used tombows, but found them a little big for what I wanted to do. These Pentels are absolutely perfect. !Easy to use, works well in small spaces (and large ones!) and a good color palette I didn't notice any glare, but there are halos.

  • Bought Finally
Cons
  • Great Price

Almost Perfect - Office & School Supplies

These are by far my favorite calligraphy pens. The colors are very saturated and the feathers are very flexible. Not as strong as the Tombow marker brush, but enough to allow you to create many variations between thick and thin strokes. I use them all the time now to address envelopes to clients and practice lettering. The only downside is that they are water based so they take a long time to dry. If you are right-handed, this is most likely not a problem at all. But I'm left-handed, so I have…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Nothing

They are great. Out of my large and obscene collection of several hundred dollar calligraphy pens, these are the ones I use the most. These are my favourites. They are so smooth and easy to write on (and easy to learn for a beginner) and the colors are very vibrant. I ended up buying 12 packs of each color individually because I use them a lot, but this set is great, especially for beginners. The nibs hold up pretty well and I like the thickness of what they write. They are better than my…

Great for beginners in modern calligraphy/brush lettering!

I am new to modern calligraphy and have done a lot of research on brush pens. I've seen it recommended over and over again. These Pentel Sign Pen Brush (Flexible Point) are AWESOME pens! Give nice thin strokes up and noticeably thicker strokes down, the colors are nice and strong and the ink flows well. Another pen I've recommended many times is Tombow Fudenosuke Colors, which just came out. I bought them at the same time as these Pentels and did a little comparison today so I'm attaching it in

Pros
  • Calligraphy Pens
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Pentel wins

Nowadays everyone and their sisters write with a brush and keep a diary. However, the most popular pen set is the Tombow Fudenosuke. They're about ten dollars more than this. Unfortunately, influencers will take a product and promote it as a "must have", but there must be alternatives and I don't think a newbie should spend money on products, especially if you don't know anything. Lots of training and some available basics should do the trick. You don't have to buy a whole set of pens to learn…

  • There are other interesting options.
