Ideal size and color coded

No need to use thicker speaker cables. It's harder to work with and doesn't do any good. The theory of line loss over long distances is technically correct, but from a practical standpoint…………… well, it just doesn't matter. In fact, a 20 gauge works just as well for less money.

Pros
  • Audio cable
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent Wire in Cables and Interconnects

I have found it difficult to find the correct wire gauge and conductor online. Many vendors sell wire with ALUMINUM strands plated with copper. Also, many of them sell their wire under some sort of "gauge" that is nowhere near the AWG size. This MaxBrite wire is EXCELLENT, properly sized and with pure copper conductors. I will buy other sizes from them. soon.

Basic copper wire with 98% electrical conductivity. good value

This is a natural copper wire, ie untinned copper wire. Because of this, this wire has a light layer of oxide that PVC insulation cannot suppress. While this doesn't affect the performance of the speakers, it does make soldering more difficult as you have to use a more aggressive flux. However, it is good value for money. I recommend it if you don't need to do a lot of soldering.

  • So far so good

I will buy more Good things for cables and connections

Excellent red/black copper wire. I bought 18 AWG for use in low voltage, low current, short cycle DC hobby electronics. Works perfectly. This wire is simply crimped with terminals. So many manufacturers use copper clad aluminum wire which is awful. Plus, the trend is also toward "thin hair," which is even worse. It's hard to crimp, flimsy and doesn't hold up. This wire has thicker copper strands and has the "old school" quality and durability I desire. Great for building speakers (which I also…
