not everything I expected -

Installation instructions could have been better and the "sealing" of the unit leaves a lot to be desired in terms of cold air intake. There are a lot of gaps around the shield so it breathes a lot of hot air under the hood. but in the end it's solid and looks great under the hood. It also offers a much larger breathable area per square inch compared to the factory intake filter. I had a K&N factory filter change prior to this air intake system. and yes, when you step on the gas, it makes theโ€ฆ

Not good, not bad, just OK

I installed this on my '96 ram. The installation instructions weren't very clear, but I managed to figure it out in about 2 hours. Faster throttle response and my engine runs a few degrees cooler. I used to have around 12.5mpg and with better airflow I was expecting slightly better gas mileage but after 2 tanks of gas I get around 11.5mpg. Three stars mean the product is ok but I don't drive my 20 year old truck around town so throttle response and power might be great for a new truck but notโ€ฆ

worked great for a few months and then developed a big crack UPDATE! K&N did it!

worked fine for about 7 months, after which a huge crack appeared on the plastic casing, which caused a serious air leak. I'll see if Amazon replaces it and try again. I really enjoyed the PS boost and would get it again if it lasted more than a few months. Maybe a manufacturer error? Anyway, we'll let you know how it goes. TO UPDATE! So I spoke to Rudy Sandoval at K&N Customer Service. He was surprised when I told him about the crack and said it shouldn't have fallen apart. He then told me itโ€ฆ

Doesn't fit 2000 RAM

I bought a cheaper version of this to save a buck, it doesn't fit, figured I'd go with the tried and true k&n kit, I found that listed fit my truck. The parts packet in the box was a different number than the box and it didn't include the parts listed in the instructions so I called the person I spoke to who didn't know as much about parts as I did and I know anyway no idea i thought i found the parts in the instructions that would fit it or the photos and the parts list said it was what iโ€ฆ
