Required for spring clamps

This tool is excellent for the spring clamps on our 1999 VW Beetle. It works on the best with large clamps, like those on the upper and lower radiator hoses. Smaller clamps also work, but it would be better if it could grip the smaller clamps a bit more. This tool is a life saver and much easier to use in most cases than a pair of pliers. The long wire extension allows you to get to hard-to-reach places where pliers cannot be used. Highly recommended.

Much better than the next cheaper alternative

I bought this to get at some inaccessible vacuum clamps and fuel lines under my car's brake booster. The first cheaper similarly designed tool I bought (also available at my local O'autoparts store) flexed right after pulling the cable. I was able to stretch the cord a bit, but it flexed again and wouldn't close all the way thereafter, making it useless. This new tool will last a lifetime on its own and is probably fit for a pro. Sometimes there's no substitute for the right tool

Get one, even for one time use

I bought these flex clamp pliers after spending a lot of time working with the spring clamp. I usually buy a tool after solving a problem. I'm glad I did. This tool is nifty! I needed to replace a leaking gasket on an oil filter adapter on my Ford 4.6 Modular engine. The lower radiator hose connects to an adapter and is accessible with the PITA.
