    Very important information

    Please note that this product is advertised as KVM switch compatible. "PS/2 KVM Switch Port Support - Built-in USB chip." Not all of these adapters claim this compatibility. God what a nightmare I was having because I was using one that wasn't compatible with my 4-port PS/2 KVM switch and Windows 10 Pro was having a problem loading the generic driver for it and I had neither keyboard nor mouse.     Works normally when the connection order is correct and additional cables are connected.

    This is a great adapter for connecting a PS2 keyboard to a USB port. At first I had trouble detecting the adapter and turning on the keyboard, but with a reviewer's suggestion from Revain Clearline (March 2014) I was able to get it working. The suggestion was to just plug the adapter into a USB port, let the PC recognize it, and then plug in the PS2 keyboard. Voila! Also, I couldn't get the adapter to work with both unpowered and powered USB extension cords, so I ended up using a 25ft PS2…

    Works fine except for one feature.

    Only used for keyboard, not tried with mouse. Worked well with the keyboard, except for one thing: when cycling through application windows, if I stopped using Ctrl+Tab while holding those keys, the highlighted window was automatically selected. I've tried different keyboards to see if it makes a difference and it doesn't.     Didn't work well with KVM switch

    Cable worked well, a PS/2 mouse and keyboard plugged directly into the computer's USB port. However, when I tried to use it with a PS/2 KVM switch connecting 2 computers, I ran into problems. One of the computers was connected to the switch with a third-party PS/2 USB adapter, and I connected the second computer to the switch with that cable. I'm not sure if the problem was that this cable was incompatible with another cable or if the problem was with the cable with the KVM switch. Gave 3 stars

    AMEN, why didn't I check for adapters before?

    . Now I've connected my old keyboard to my new desktop! The later economy style keyboard, too small, the keys are offset, drives me crazy.
