This product is great for folding roofs! I always dream of convertibles, but after a few months of ownership I sell it, get angry, buy another one and, according to my wife, repeat the process too often. I always seem to find great deals on convertibles until I realize they all have the same problem: a leaking rear window. The thing works great! A few tips I've learned over the years: Tape the window and top with masking tape to avoid (as much as possible) messy overlays on the top and windows.

The adhesion of this product seems sufficient, but poor packaging and a loose screw cap make it terribly dirty and almost impossible to use. I had to tighten the cap every few seconds after trying to squeeze out the sealant. The tip stays unscrewed and then starts to wobble and eventually pops out causing the sealant to squirt out from the underside of the threaded area. really thick engine sludge. There are times when "black" silicone glue or sealant is good to have. There aren't many brands of black silicone in tubes, and Permatex is probably the best. In terms of adhesion and "texture" of the product once cured, I can only compare it to GE silicone that works so well. I think GE Silicone II is top-notch: Once dry, it stays firm but flexible and has excellent adhesion. This product is Permatex, not much.
